The beautiful valleys of the District Batagram are located at latitude 34.675977 and longitude 73.028274, surrounded by Kohistan District to the North, Mansehra District to the East, Torghar to the South and Shangla District of Malakand Division to the West. It’s headquarter is at Batagram town at a distance of about 75-KM from Mansehra on the Silk Highway. The District is mostly covered by mountains with peaks rising upto to 4000 meters with thick forests, wide meadows and beautiful waterfalls. However fertile cultivated land also exist in Nindhyar, Tikri, Deshan, Batamori, Banna and Rashang valleys with plenty of irrigation water. The District covers an area of 1857 sq km ( including the 930 square kilometer area of Chor pasture which is still an unsettled area in Allai ) and consists of two sub-divions Battagram and Allai.
District Battagram is mountainous area ranging in altitude from 525 m at Thakot to 4690 m above sea level at Sukai Sar , the highest peak . The area is generally rough and mountainous having variable slopes from gentle to precipitous. District Battagram can be categorized into agricultural land, forested land and alpine meadows.
