INTRODUCTION
Chor Pasture with an area of 930 sq km, is considered one of the biggest pastures in Asia, situated in Tehsil Allai. Chor is a sub valley of Allai hidden between Gangwal, Kohistan and Kaghan valley, surrounded by 12,000 to 15,000ft ASL peaks. It is about 50km long valley/meadow . chor pasture/valley is 8,000 ft above sea level at its lowest and goes up to 12,000 ft above sea level at its highest point. Chor valley known for its mesmerizing waterfalls, lush green meadows and beautiful peaks, can be developed into a world class tourist destination.
Chor is seasonal meadow /pasture and suitable season to visit Chor valley is from May to September and during the rest of the year the pastur is snow-bound and inaccessible. Large number of nomads’ comes to reside in Chor Valley along with their cattles in summers as the pasture provide ample food for their animals. The pasture is full of natural beauty , wide meadows ,thick forests, water falls and measmerizing s peaks and glaciers, having immense potential of world level tourist site. However the pasture has no road connectivity and is at distance of at least 12 hours walk from the two nearest jeepable road-end points of Ghantar and Gangwal.
